The pop-ups are made possible through the portable flamenco floors designed especially for the Flamenco Biennial by Hungarian art director Zsuzsa Megyesi. Visit her interactive installation TRY ME! during our performances in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ and try a few dance steps on one of the floors!

Soleá por marimba
Tatiana Koleva & Harriët IJssel de Schepper ‘Kika’
Contemporary composer Florian Magnus Maier is fascinated by flamenco. The soleá (the mother of the cante jondo) which he wrote for marimba, specially for Bulgarian percussionist Tatiana Koleva, tempts Dutch Kika to explore her boundaries. She’ll set her first flamenco steps in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ to the percussive sounds of the marimba!
