After some magnificent shows at Festival de Jerez (2011), Festival Ciutat Flamenco Barcelona (2012) and La Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla (2012), the Qasida project will show at the Suma Flamenca Festival Madrid, the 10th of June and 27th of July at Glatt und Verkehrt Krems (Austria).
After that Qasida will return to the Netherlands for the 5th anniversary edition of the Dutch Flamenco Biennial.
The Qasida project is an extraordinary musical encounter between the young Sevillian cantaora Rosario ‘La Tremendita’ and her Iranian peer Mohammad Motamedi. ‘More flamenco than La Tremendita is impossible’, the French newspaper Le Monde recently wrote after the presentation of her debut album ‘A Tiempo’ at the Seville Biennial. In Qasida the singer explores the roots of flamenco in the richly varied poetic songs and improvisations of Motamedi, the young rising star of Iranian classical music. | read more
