Qasida, a creation of the Dutch Flamenco Biennial, will travel abroad again this autumn. This time, Rome is the destination for Spanish flamenco singer Rosario la Tremendita and Iranian singer Mohammad Motamedi. At the Flamenco Festival Roma, Auditorium Parco della Musica, Roman flamenco lovers will discover a phenomenal Dutch flamenco production at 8 October 2015.

The Qasida project is an extraordinary musical encounter between the young Sevillian cantaora Rosario ‘La Tremendita’ and her Iranian peer Mohammad Motamedi. In Qasida Rosario ‘La Tremendita’ explores the roots of flamenco in the richly varied poetic songs and improvisations of Motamedi, the young rising star of Iranian classical music.

Since its premiere at the third edition of the Dutch Flamenco Biennial, Qasida has been travelling to several foreign festivals, among which Festival de Jerez (2011), Festival Ciutat Flamenco Barcelona (2012), Flamenco Biennial Sevilla (2012), Suma Flamenca Festival Madrid (2014) and Glatt und Verkehrt Festival in Krems (2014).
