11 January - 1 March 2015 Instituto Cervantes Utrecht
For the anniversary edition of the Dutch Flamenco Biennial, Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht will put on a special photo exhibition of works by the Spanish photographer Chema Conesa (Murcia, 1952). He has made a special series of 33 dual portraits of flamenco greats with people behind the scenes, like technicians, accompanists, hairdressers, make-up artists and catering staff. Both invest their efforts and passion into keeping the art of flamenco alive. Chema Conesa will personally open the exhibition on 11 January with a lecture in Spanish with simultaneous translation into Dutch. The exhibition will run until March.
Opening exhibition: Sunday 11 January during the Cultural Sunday Nieuwjaarsduik in Utrecht.
